Storyline:  A charming young American, Tom Ripley, is dispatched to Italy by a wealthy businessman to convince his wayward son, Philippe Greenleaf, to return home and take over the family business. Philippe's luxurious life quickly captivate Tom, who yearns for a taste of the same opulence. However, Philippe's dismissive and sometimes cruel behavior pushes Tom to the brink. When an opportunity arises, Tom concocts a daring plan to murder Philippe and assume his identity.
