Storyline:  In rural Bengal, a wealthy landowner dreams that his daughter-in-law Doyamoyee is the reincarnation of the goddess Kali. Convinced of her divinity, he begins to worship her, and soon the villagers follow. As faith turns into fanaticism, Doyamoyee struggles between reverence and her loss of humanity.
