Storyline:  During WWII, atheist widow Barny works in occupied France and feels drawn to her boss Sabine. When Germans arrive, she hides her half-Jewish daughter and seeks guidance from priest Léon Morin. As Barny discusses faith and reads the books he lends, she converts to Catholicism—and develops unreturned feelings for him.
