The Wages of Fear (1953)

In a remote, impoverished South American town, four men, stranded and desperate for escape, are hired by an oil company for a perilous mission: transporting volatile nitroglycerin through treacherous terrain to extinguish a fire at an oil field. Lacking the proper equipment, the slightest jolt could spell disaster, and the crumbling roads make the journey lethal. Despite their rivalry and the constant risk of explosion, they take the job.
