Plot Summary

Holly Martins is an unemployed writer who arrives in Vienna at the invitation of a friend, Harry Lime, only to discover that he has died. Holly turns to Lime's acquaintances but their testimonies fall flat. A masterful film noir that is considered one of the best British films ever made, with bleak photography and nuanced characters that provide more than a few surprises.
