Song of Love (1950)

In a French prison, two adjacent inmates, separated by thick walls, are desperate for human connection. They communicate in unique, intimate ways, using gestures like passing a bouquet of wildflowers through their barred windows. An older man, seemingly in love with the younger, shares his cigarette smoke through a straw, yearning for closeness. Their private moments are secretly observed by a voyeuristic guard, whose jealousy incites violence.
