Storyline:  Anthony Keane, a successful London barrister, takes on the defense of Maddalena Paradine, a beautiful Italian woman accused of poisoning her older, blind husband, a retired colonel. Despite being happily married, Keane becomes infatuated with Maddalena, jeopardizing his marriage and professional judgment. His wife, Gay, watches helplessly as his obsession deepens, fearing she may lose him forever in a case that will change all of their lives.
