Storyline:  Starring the star of Hollywood's golden years John Wayne as Thomas Dunson, a headstrong rancher who after 14 prosperous years running his ranch and in need of money, sets out to herd his cattle for Missouri with his ranch hand Groot and his adopted son Matthew Garth. The tyrannical behavior of the elder Dunson throughout the trip causes tension with young Matt, who after a series of confrontations leads a mutiny against his father. Film based on a novel that dramatizes the real expeditions of the late nineteenth century on the Chisholm Trail.
