Shakuntala (1947)

Shakuntala daughter of a sage Vishwamitra and Menaka is brought up by another sage Kanva and stays with him in forest.She meets Dushyanta while he comes for hunting the two fall in love and get married but Dushyanta has to leave soon and promises to return back.Dushyanta gives her a ring as token to their marriage, Shakuntla is lost in his thoughts of Dushyanta so much that she doesn't hear a sage asking her for water.The sage out of frustration curses her that she will loose the person she is thinking off.
