Storyline:  In 1938, Stan still believes the war is ongoing, patrolling trenches in France and shooting down a French aviator. Found in a Soldier’s Home by Oliver, who mistakes him for disabled, Stan is invited to dinner. But Oliver’s wife leaves in protest, the kitchen is destroyed in the attempt to cook, and their neighbor Mrs. Gilbert helps—until her husband suddenly returns, armed with a shotgun.
