Storyline:  As President Lincoln’s final act, he authorizes the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad to link the East and California. While the project advances, opportunist Asa Barrows seeks to profit by sabotaging it. Jeff Butler, the company’s troubleshooter, faces corruption, sabotage, and rivalry with his former comrade Dick Allen, both in work and in love for Molly Monahan.
