Storyline:  Life on the South Seas island of Pago Pago is disrupted when a boat arrives carrying the missionary Davidsons, the MacPhails, and prostitute Sadie Thompson. Stranded by a suspected cholera outbreak, Sadie clashes with the fanatical Mr. Davidson, whose attempt to redeem her spirals into obsession and ends in tragedy.
