There is a raucous, loud and graphic sex scene where Avery and Jerry have sex against a wall with lots of passionate, fast thrusting. Her big breast are seen bouncing a lot. Lots of moaning and screaming. They are seen eating strawberries naked after with shadowing covering his penis and her vagina.

Jerry (Tom Cruise) leans over, kisses Dorothy (Renée Zellweger) and begins fondling her clothed breast.

Smoking: Not very much. Jerry (Tom Cruise), Ethan (Eric Stoltz) and Bob (Jay Mohr) smoke a cigar once. Laurel (Bonnie Hunt) smokes a cigarette twice.

Alcohol: Jerry and Rod (Cuba Gooding Jr.) drink at the airport lobby and later on the plane (only Jerry). Jerry, who's drunk during the scene, and Dorothy (Renée Zellweger) have a beer on their "date". Matt Cushman (Beau Bridges) drinks a beer mixed with tomatoe juice in one scene. A woman drinks champagne on the plane. At several party-events, in restaurants and at women's group meetings there's much drinking of alcohol, mostly backround.

Jerry seems to be having an emotional breakdown. This is intense.
