Storyline:  After losing his job and shedding his possessions, Ben Sanderson (Nicolas Cage), a deeply entrenched alcoholic, heads to Las Vegas with a grim purpose: to drink himself into oblivion within a month. There, he crosses paths with Sera (Elisabeth Shue), a prostitute. Their unexpected connection blossoms into love, leading Ben to move in with her. In a pact of understanding, they vow not to alter each other's chosen paths, sharing a poignant romance during his remaining weeks.
