The Quick and the Dead (1995)

Ellen, an enigmatic gunslinger, arrives in the town of Redemption with a hunger for revenge, since her father was murdered by John Herod, the mayor of the town. With the excuse of an annual rapid-fire tournament, she competes and faces, among others, 'The Kid', someone with a past of his own. This underrated film by director Sam Raimi is an entertaining but atypical western with an excellent cast, where Gene Hackman stands out, and a beautiful soundtrack. It is certainly a film to be rediscovered.
