Storyline:  The film is based on the chapters of the novel "The Brothers Karamazov" by F. M. Dostoevsky. Trying to protect the boy from the persecution of classmates, monk Alyosha Karamazov eventually becomes involved in the life story of the entire family of Captain Snegirev - a man trying to preserve dignity despite poverty and grief.
