Storyline:  Lloyd Fellowes directs an Americanized version of a British play, but his cast proves more troublesome than the play itself. With a fading diva, a timid leading man, and a perpetually drunk bit player, rehearsals turn into a parade of comic disasters. Between backstage romances and quarrels, the chaos outshines what happens on stage.
