Storyline:  Inspired by poet Jimmy Santiago Baca's real-life experiences, this story follows three step-brothers - Cruz, Paco, and their bi-racial cousin, Miklo - all part of the notorious "Vatos Locos" gang in 1972 East L.A. As violent crimes and drugs alter their lives, Miklo ends up in San Quentin, Cruz battles addiction, and Paco becomes a cop, leading to a gripping tale of transformation and conflict.
