Don't let the R-rating fool you. This is more than just hard R (the UK equivalent being 18, which it was; in reality it's more like an X - by UK standards - film and probably was originally that) - this movie likely was originally NC-17 (or X, depending on if it was released in 1989 or 1991). This movie is not for kids. There is non-stop NC-17 profanity, NC-17 sex, and the violence is gruesome enough to be NC-17, very graphic. Definitely not for kids.
Almost nonstop NC-17 profanity, except for a few emotional scenes (even then Tito curses when he's mad). Constant usage of the F-word. And a scene with cops using nasty racial slurs.
