Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989)

Plot Summary

A fascinating film about the intimate lives of four interconnected characters. Ann, a long-suffering wife, is troubled by desires and secrets. Her husband, John, is having an affair with Cinthia, Ann's extroverted sister. An old friend of John's, Graham, appears on the scene and upsets Ann with his obsession for videotaping the sexual confessions of women he is involved with. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, with excellent performances from its quartet of performers, it was a milestone in independent cinema for being both raw and honest.
