Storyline:  Based on Chrétien de Troyes’ 12th-century novel Perceval, the Story of the Grail, this film follows Perceval’s journey from being knighted by King Arthur to training with the Knights of the Round Table. Unlike other adaptations, Rohmer places the characters in a stylized, theatrical kingdom, featuring a chorus and characters narrating their deeds using verses from the original text.
