Storyline:  In 1890 Wyoming, Sheriff James Averill watches the conflict intensify as wealthy cattle owners move to push out immigrant farmers they consider an obstacle. With backing from state authorities, the Wyoming Stock Growers Association gathers hired gunmen and gains support from the U.S. Cavalry. Averill sides with the immigrants yet doubts they can withstand the violence ahead.
