Storyline:  The Caravana Rolidei arrives in town led by the Gypsy Lord, who entertains with magic tricks, while Salomé captivates the crowd with her sensual dances and the mute Swallow astounds with his strength. Among the audience, a young accordion player falls hopelessly in love with Salomé and pleads to join the troupe. The Gypsy Lord agrees, and soon the musician and his pregnant wife, Dasdô, become part of the caravan. As they travel from the coast deep into the Amazon, they struggle against the growing power of television. When Salomé allows the young musician into her bed—with Dasdô’s knowledge—his obsession only deepens. But after Dasdô gives birth and the troupe faces ruin, the accordionist must make a painful choice between staying loyal to his family or surrendering to the illusions of the caravan.
