Storyline:  Max, an ex-con saving to open a car wash in Pittsburgh, meets Lionel, a sailor returning to the Midwest to see his child. Their unlikely friendship grows as Max learns from Lionel’s unique outlook on life, including his belief that scarecrows don’t frighten birds but amuse them, finding humor in the world around them.
