Storyline:  Based on the novel by Manuel Puig, Heartbreak Tango narrates the lives of several characters in the fictitious town of Coronel Vallejos. After the death of Juan Carlos Etchepare, Nené and other women reveal, through letters and confessions, the secrets they had with him and how they moved on with their lives. The film portrays an era marked by machismo, which relegated women to the domestic sphere, and exposes the taboos, pressures, and abuses of power to which they were subjected.
