Storyline:  In 1963 Oregon, Randle "Mac" McMurphy, a convict with a history of assault and a recent statutory rape conviction, fakes insanity to escape prison labor, landing himself in a mental institution for evaluation. Here, he encounters Nurse Ratched, a strict and manipulative figure who keeps her patients subdued through intimidation and control. Refusing to conform, McMurphy stirs rebellion among the patients, encouraging them to reclaim their voices.
