A vicious London gangster, Jack Carter, travels to Newcastle for his brother's funeral. He begins to suspect that his brother's death was not an accident, and sets out to follow a complex trail of lies, deceit, cover-ups and backhanders through Newcastle's underworld, leading, he hopes, to the man who ordered his brother killed. Carter exhibits all the ruthlessness and unstoppability of the cyborg in The Terminator (1984), or Walker in Point Blank (1967), and he and the other characters in this movie are prone to sudden, brutal acts of violence.

After having had sex, man lies in her bed alone. Next to the bed, he turns on a film projector and watches a porn film called 'Teacher's Pet.' The film depicts a woman and teen schoolgirl in a bedroom. The woman leaves and a man enters the bedroom. He then has sex with the young schoolgirl. Nudity includes bare breasts.

There are several scenes which show videos and photos of pornography. In one we see from considerable distance a shot of penis in woman's mouth. Quite explicit, but then again it is seen from far away. (In blu-ray version the explicit image (black & white) is completely clear, however a man's hand is covering the testicles but you can see clearly the man's penis in the woman's mouth)

A woman walks, fully naked, to run a bath. We see her bum and breasts.

A character has sex with a few characters. Nothing too explicit but, again, breasts are seen. Implied gay sex.

A woman, held at gunpoint, is forced to take her clothes off. Breasts are shown. A few seconds later she is shown lying on the ground topless and then is picked up by a man - breasts are visable.
