Storyline:  A wealthy young man named Harold, fascinated by death, stages elaborate fake suicides and attends strangers' funerals to the dismay of his domineering mother. At one such funeral, he meets Maude, a free-spirited septuagenarian with a zest for life. As Maude introduces Harold to the joys of living, their unlikely friendship blossoms into something more profound, challenging societal norms and Harold's own morbid preoccupations.
