Storyline:  In early 20th-century Paris, young Frenchman Claude Roc befriends Englishwoman Ann Brown, who invites him to spend the holidays with her family. There, he grows close to Ann’s sister, Muriel, and they fall in love. Their families impose a year of separation before marriage, but while waiting in Paris, Claude drifts into a series of affairs and ultimately ends their engagement.
