Many of the village people are scantly clad and a side of a woman's breast is seen briefly. There is also breastfeeding. However, no explicit nudity or sexual content.

Near the beginning there is a brief battle between the villagers and the soldiers, which results in some villagers being shot and killed. The scene is not specifically graphic, but some blood is shown.

At two points in the film an animal sacrifice is shown - the first of a chicken and the second a goat. The former is more graphic since the throat of the chicken is shown being slit. In both scenes the animals scream and there is some blood.

There is some rough-handling of some of the people by soldiers in various points of the film.

Without going into details, throughout this film colonial violence against village people is displayed in various ways. Many of these scenes could be shocking, upsetting, and disturbing.
