Caregiver (2018)

Sarah is a recently engaged, lower middle class 26 year old working long hours at a nursing home in the suburbs of Chicago. Sarah is very closed minded and her world revolves around her tiny crowded apartment, her battle against low self esteem, and her video game addicted fiance. At the nursing home Sarah works at, the kind warm hearted receptionist Eva always greets Sarah kindly. She tells Sarah about her dementia patient Dolores' strange actions. Sarah is not surprised, as Dolores' weird antics are an everyday occurrence. As Sarah enters Dolores' room she is greeted by a mess of papers, numbers, and a pair of dice being rolled on the table. Dolores is frantically yelling about her "game" and a specific set of numbers. Sarah constantly ignores her and is very unkind. One week passes and Dolores has passed away. Sarah is indifferent when she hears about the death, and she excitedly texts her fiance. As Sarah packs up Dolores' belongings she discovers notes all over with various numbers, and a mysterious notebook. She is in for the shock of her life when she turns on the nightly news to the announcement of powerball winners and finally discovers Dolores' powerful gift.
