Storyline: In 1992, Sandi Tan and her friends filmed Singapore’s first indie road movie, Shirkers, under the guidance of the mysterious Georges Cardona. When he vanished with all footage, the project seemed lost. Two decades later, the 16mm reels surface in New Orleans, sending Sandi—now a novelist—to retrace the story across continents and formats, from 16mm to digital, slides, and handwritten letters, in a punk-infused, kaleidoscopic tale.
