Sex. Pain. Love. For 20-something Yani, a former ballet dancer, life flows exactly in that order. Visiting her older sister Serita in New York City, Yani must come to terms with the death of her father. Instead, she buries her sorrows in wasted days of aimless wandering, pity and pretty nail polish. After a heated discussion on a Friday, her older sister urges her to try something new and meet up with her at a peace rally for police brutality. That evening, Yani meets Chad, a straight-faced, 30-something lawyer who is serious about all the right things - including eating his pizza with a fork and knife. After a passionate one-night-stand, Yani and Chad are inseparable for the weekend as they make love in strange places and eventually face their ultimate fear - reality. As the Queen of Self-Sabotage, Yani strikes up a fight with Chad, and finds herself sobbing in the arms of her beloved sister Serita. Feeling defeated, Yani travels back home to Pittsburgh, PA, where she finds solace in her comfort zone of pity. A week later, a chance knock at the door - the postman - leads to Yani opening a letter from Chad. His heart is signed, sealed and delivered in the form of a one-way ticket back to NYC. Yani and Chad reunite at the New York City ballet where a kiss seals their fate of forever.
