Pas Honteux (2018)

Henry is a wanna-be thug who is living off of his dad's social security check and is at a standstill in his life. His friends are tired of paying his way every time they go out, so they leave him behind. Ronnie, feeling sympathetic for Henry, leaves him a bottle of Courvosier. Abandoned by his friends, Henry drinks the bottle of Courvosier until he passes out on his front porch. Meanwhile, an eccentric, homeless man named Sir Rodney is meditating in his makeshift tent that is covered with "outer space" designs. A city worker explains to Rodney that he cannot camp out in the middle of the street. Rodney does not understand him, and the city worker calls the LAPD on his walkie. Back at Henry's house, a group of Hispanic religious solicitors visit a sleeping Henry on his porch. When Henry wakes up, he can only speak French and is unable to communicate with the solicitors. Frantic, Henry practices his new linguistic ability by moving around his house naming random objects in French. Henry leaves his house and walks to Rodney's tent for advice, which is now surrounded by a crowd of bystanders, police, and a news reporter. Henry enters Rodney's tent and they speak about French as a civilized language spoken by civilized men while sipping cognac out of snifters. After Henry leaves Rodney's tent, he meets a beautiful young woman named Michelle, who is also a French speaker, and asks her out on a date, to which she accepts. Later on, when Henry is getting ready for his date, he looses his ability to speak French. In a panic, he rushes to drink another bottle of Courvosier, but to no avail. There is now an even larger protesting crowd surrounding Rodney's tent and police are forcing him to vacate the area. Henry intervenes and is promptly beaten by police. He wakes up in his bedroom to a concerned Michelle and bandaged head. Rodney is now happily living on Henry's front lawn with his newly pitched tent.
