Storyline:  In 1945 Poland, Mathilde Beaulieu, a young French Red Cross intern, is approached by a Polish nun seeking urgent help. At a nearby convent, Mathilde discovers several nuns in advanced stages of pregnancy—survivors of wartime violence. As she assists them, her view of faith, duty, and compassion is profoundly challenged.
