In "The Dream," a writer, obsessed with the image of a coin, tells a psychiatrist the story of a Woodcutter driven to madness. In "The Infinite Library," a young man, obsessed with finding the knowledge of the world by copying down the words of other writers, learns to find his own voice with the help of a young librarian. In "Emma Zunz," a young woman seeks revenge for the death of her father, and gains the courage to tell her story.
