The Waiting Room (Original)
Robert Benedict, a once-celebrated novelist, finds himself alone in a room. He does not know where he is, nor why he is there. Beginning with a young woman called Sarah, his 'Case Officer', Benedict proceeds to be interviewed by a series of characters - ranging from the exuberant, outlandish Gressil to the demure, ten-year old Grace - and he slowly appreciates that some sort of evaluation is being made. It isn't long before Benedict - cultured, well-read, a tremendous raconteur, a man who has made it his business to live life to the very full - realizes that perhaps he is in Purgatory. Is he being judged? Is the decision now being made as to whether he will go to Heaven or Hell?
