Tunisia has always stood out as a democratic bright spot of the Arab Spring, and have had very little history of terrorist violence. In 2011, the country became one of the largest sources of foreign fighters for the Islamic State. Aaron Y. Zelin is the founder of the widely cited website called Jihadology and its podcast called JihadPod, and has written a book named "Your Sons Are at Your Service: Tunisia's Missionaries of Jihad" where he uncovers the longer history of Tunisian involvement in the jihadist movement, and examines the reasons why so many citizens became drawn to it after the 2011 revolution. He is also the Richard Borow Fellow at The Washington Institute and a visiting research scholar at Brandeis University. Rukmini Callimachi is a four-time Pulitzer Prize finalist who covers the Islamic State and al-Qaeda for the New York Times, and started to research more deeply into terrorism in 2013. Both Aaron and Rukmini are in a meeting with Robert Satloff, the Executive Director at the Washington Institute.
