Goin' for Picture (2019)

Goin' for Picture is the story of MARK SLOPE (25), an aspiring filmmaker in the mid 90's who has been forced to move back to his small New Mexican town after failing to find success in Hollywood. On a reluctant job hunt, he visits a local video store owned by MR. ELDRITCH (60), a retired film director who has recently returned from his personal exile in the Middle East. Learning his store is set to close and seeing something special in Mark, Mr. Eldritch presents him with his latest screenplay for his epic trilogy: Habibi: A Romantic Sci-Fi Musical Adventure and offers him the job of directing. Mark discovers the script is brilliant and is only too willing to work with one of his idols, but with a crew largely made up of amateurs and Mr. Eldritch's fleeting sanity, filming this "masterpiece" is going to be a lot harder than either of them originally thought.
