Among them: Mimosa, a local woman reluctantly engaged and working as an extra; Josephine Esperanto, a veteran Hollywood actress anxious about emerging naturalistic performers like co-star Sean Lockwood; and Rufus Priori, an American art dealer and Josephine's companion who guides the disparate group through a transformative nocturnal experience across the city during this tumultuous period.
