Storyline:  Ubu murders King Wenceslas to take the throne and seize power, initiating a series of cruel and absurd decisions and actions. Driven by ambition, but also by cowardice and foolishness, he conducts his reign erratically, leading his kingdom to total chaos. Based on a play by Alfred Jarry, this film by director Paulo Abreu is a political satire that heightens the grotesque and the absurd, with echoes of the political reality of the world floating around off-screen.
