During the History of Book Making project, Oxford University discovers that the first book written on the subject was not English as previously claimed for nearly 300 years in England. Time and location change to early 1700s in St. Omer France. Martin-Dominque Fertel is appointed printer for the Bishop. Fertel then writes and publishes the first book in any language of how to make a book with instructions and examples of of print fonts, print sizes, drawing registration on pages - all techniques still used today. Giles Barber of Oxford delivers speech and paper on how Fertel was widely known and referenced in Europe and England at the time and for a few centuries after; and, the English writer and book were not actually referenced during the time probably because the English version was a poor translation and was missing elements referred to inside of the book.
