Storyline: Allen (Jermaine Fowler, SORRY TO BOTHER YOU), a once-struggling science fiction writer desperate to be seen and heard, now lives in a large house perched in the Hollywood Hills. He owns a classic Mustang, his home has a fountain, and he even has an entire room dedicated to THE NEPTUNE CYCLE, the famous sci-fi series by S.J. Purcell (Brendan Hunt, TED LASSO), whom Allen sees as his hero and role model. One day, three of Allen’s friends come by to celebrate the unexpected success of his book and the sale of its movie rights. But Maddie (Pauline Chalamet, SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS), Ryan (James Morosini, I LOVE MY DAD), and Vic (Edy Modica, JURY DUTY) quickly begin to have doubts — it all seems too good to be true. Allen’s behavior doesn’t help either: sadness, paranoia, and bizarre ramblings aren’t exactly the signs of someone who just hit the jackpot. Is it writer’s block? Or maybe the friends picked the wrong day to visit? And perhaps... they weren’t the only ones coming to see Allen that day?
