Storyline:  In a Japan plagued by strange giant creatures, Kafka Hibino, a monster exterminator, reunites with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, and decides to fulfill his dream of joining the Defense Forces. But, unexpectedly, he transforms into the powerful Kaiju No. 8. While hiding his identity, with the help of his partner, Reno Ichikawa, he faces the attack of other intelligent Kaiju beasts.
