Most of the violence is in the sword fights between samurai or the main character hunting demons. These scenes feature varying levels of blood and gore, with limbs being dismembered, people being impaled, and blood spraying everywhere.

War is constant and people are starving everywhere. In one episode, a footless soldier is seen devouring another soldier's corpse to prevent himself from starving to death.
