Intense scenes are very frequent, as main characters are constantly harassed, chased and monitored by the evil Greencorp company. Recurring characters put their lives in danger in many situations, which are sustained and realistic, although they mostly end up fine.
There are frequent situations where main characters resort to activities that may be considered criminal or dangerous (e.g. breaking one's locker, stealing, chemical manipulation), for their plans to succeed.
They almost die from radiation poisoning a lot and exhibit symptoms of it eg: characters become very weak, vomit and one was alluded to lose teeth because of it.
