Some of the females in the series wear merkins to conceal their genitalia, resulting in sometimes simulated frontal female nudity. Amy Landecker joked in interviews about how uncomfortable her merkin was, calling it a "furry surprise."

The show features strong sex references and talk of sexual activity. Each episode contains multiple sex scenes between heterosexual and homosexual couples including oral sex. Nudity is also prevalent in the majority of episodes from bare breasts to men and women's butts and full frontal female nudity.
