Thirty years ago, Violante was about to marry the ambitious Daniel, but he abandoned her at the altar for the wealthy Eugénia, showing that money doesn't bring happiness. Now, back in Portugal after an unhappy marriage in Spain, Violante accidentally kills her husband, discovering he had an illegitimate son.
