Breaking Bad (2008)

An essential watch. Brilliant. The character of Walter White is quite an character study in itself. The archetypes are reduced to the essential minimum: from the beginning where it seems that each of the characters is easy to label, an outstanding evolution is observed. The concept of good and evil, the good and bad, so typical and burdensome in American cinema, is diluted. Everything is much more complex, questionable. It gives for continuous debates in the most diverse fields.

It took some time until it makes me want to sit down and binge-watch it. Season one is not catchy, but if you have patience you won’t want to stop from season two on. The characters grow and develop in a way that we can’t just divide them into good and bad guys. Everything becomes deeper and harder, and then it’s worth watching.
