The show mostly uses crude British swear words and slang terms such as "Wanker" and "Prick", but other words eg, "Bastard", "Bitch", "Cock", "Shag", etc. Are also used very frequently.

"F*ck" is never actually said on the series. All instances of it being used are humorously cut off. The only time it was actually used in the series was two instances of it being mouthed out.

The C word is almost said twice but comdeically cut off.

Few cut off f words. One where Victor is about to say it to ISA before the lift doors open. And one is actually said, but it's in silence as victor and jack pay for petrol, and see the price, and say the f word in shock, but it's got music over it, you see them mouth the words.

People are implied to be on harder substances but drug use is never shown. One scene shows a weed plant and implies cookies are edibles in one episode. A weed plant is shown in the same episode.

In one scene a room is full of smoke implying weed has been smoked.

A character has an operation to have his foot removed for years of smoking cigarettes.

In one season, two characters enter a room filled with cigars and pipes. One of the characters tries seven brands of tobacco and emerges from the shop surrounded by smoke.

The character Pete 'The Jakey' MacCornack is an alcoholic. Despite this, he's only ever seen intoxicated once. The character is replaced in later seasons, due to the death of the characters actor, and is replaced by a heroin addict called 'Methadone' Mick. However, Mick is never seen taking any drugs and it's implied that he's become clean.

One of the main locations is set in a local pub. Naturally, alcohol is seen being consumed.

Occasional mild, to moderate drug references.

Has a few emotional and heart warming moments but the show is a comedy and has non stop laughs nothing intense at all.

The last episode, "Over the Hill," may upset some viewers.
